In the early morning, our driver will pick-up from your hotel in Beijing and transfer you to Beijing airport. Take flight to Xian. On your arrival, our guide will hold a sign with your name waiting for you at the exit. Pick up and transfer you to have lunch first.
After lunch, visit the Shaanxi History Museum. The history of Shaanxi is said to be the history of China, and this museum is quite simply one of the nation's best. Four major galleries in large, Tang-style buildings house a vast and impressive collection, beautifully displayed. Most of the item labels are in English, although some other information on the exhibitions is not, but your guide can help here.
Visit Big Goose Pagoda. A major Buddhist site, the simple, elegant brick Pagoda stands in the grounds of the attractive Da Ci'en Temple. The Pagoda was built in the 7th century to house the Buddhist materials that Xuanzang (Tripitaka) brought back from his epic journey to India. The Temple complex has several large halls with some great Buddhist statues and murals.
After breakfast, pick up from the hotel. Then drive to visit famous and must-be see spot, the Terra-Cotta Warriors, which is a collection of terracotta sculptures depicting the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. It is a form of funerary art buried with the emperor in 210–209 BC and whose purpose was to protect the emperor in his afterlife.
Move on to Huaqing Hot Spring. This site features a long documented history of almost three millennia, having served as the location for several palaces built during the reigns of past Chinese dynastic rulers, including King You of the Zhou Dynasty, Qin Shi Huang of the Qin Dynasty, and an expanded version by Wu Han of the Han Dynasty. Under the Tang emperors Taizong and Xuanzong, the palace structure was rebuilt and renamed the Huaqing Palace.
After lunch, visit the Banpo Neolithic Village Museum, which is an archaeological remain found in 1953. In the 1980s, it was one of few attractions in Xian, second only in world fame to the Terracotta Warriors. The Banpo Neolithic Village Museum contains the remains of several well organized Neolithic settlements dating from 5600 - 6700 BP.
Pick up from the hotel. Visit Xian Ancient City Wall, the City Wall is one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world and the most complete ancient city wall in China. And today, the city wall is regarded as a landmark dividing the Xian city into the inner part and the outer part. You are free to take the bicycle around the city wall at your own expenses (optional).
Then move on to visit Bell and Drum Tower Square. Located in the center of Xian and used for timekeeping in old days. After lunch in the downtown , you will visit the Muslim Quarter, which many special local products and snacks to be found along this street. You can enjoy preserved meat, casserole, various noodles, and Terracotta Warriors imitation.
After the tour, transferred to Xian Airport and take later afternoon flight back to Beijing.
